but, if I turn both adjustment bolts in 1/4 turn won't that just tighten the belt? Doesn't seem that that would change the angle of the rear pully. I just did the alignment on my '87 and I had to support the bike off the back wheel and spin the rear wheel while turning the adjustment bolts and watching the belt alignment on the rear pully and listening for any noise to disapate. This is the easiest way I have found to get the best alignment. You also have to recheck the belt tension after doing any adjustment on the belt. Now getting the bike suported off the back wheel by my self without a lift that's another story.
